Statement of Beliefs Print

Overview

We believe that God is the Sovereign Creator of the universe, and if we can trust Him to guide all of creation, create a man out of clay, resurrect a Savior and atone for the sins of mankind, we can also trust Him to protect the integrity of His greatest written document. There are currently over 24,000 bits of evidence backing up its authenticity, not only from the people of God, but from other cultures, so it is proven to be more accurate than anything written by such noted authors as Confucius, Socrates, Plato, etc. As a result, we live according to the inspired word of God from cover to cover, regardless of the prices that we must pay to align ourselves with God's commandments.

Our Beliefs

We realize that some may question why certain principles are omitted, or even why others are included, but you must realize that no statement of beliefs can encompass everything that you believe in.  However, we can share that everything that we believe is backed up by scripture, not by men's traditions or philosophies.  If anyone has reasonable and respectful questions or observations concerning this statement, please contact us on our Contact page, but please understand that we will not spend any time being distracted by vain disputings.  In other words, as long as we agree on the major issues, we would anticipate that you can respectfully and lovingly agree to disagree on secondary issues.

The Nature of God

There is one true God

Isaiah 43:10-11 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. {11} I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

He is a Triune God, representing Himself in three Persons (Father, Son and Holy Ghost)

1 John 5:7 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one

The Sovereignty of Jesus

The deity of Jesus Christ

John 1:1-3  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. {2} The same was in the beginning with God. {3} All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus came in the flesh and dwelt among us

John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus lived a sinless life

Hebrews 4:15 - For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus' substitutionary work to atone for our sins

Hebrews 9:28 - So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus' bodily resurrection from the dead

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; {4}And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Jesus is the only means of salvation

John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 10:9-12 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

God's Chosen People

The Jews (Abraham's seed, both physical and spiritual) are God's chosen people

Genesis 18:17-18 17And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; 18Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Romans 8:15 - For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 11:8-21 8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them: 10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? 16For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. 20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

Church Doctine

The mission of the Church

Mark 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. {16}He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. {17}And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

The inspiration and infallability of the word of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: {17}That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The ordinances of the church - water baptism and holy communion

Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: {24} And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. {25} After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. {26} For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.

Sanctification

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. {2} And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Spiritual Gifts Still Exist

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Matthew 3:11 - I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Acts 1:8 - But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 19:2-6 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. {3} And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. {4} Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. {5} When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. {6} And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Spiritual gifts (divine healing, prophecy, word of knowledge, etc.) are still in operation today

Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

1 Corinthians 1:7- So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. {5} And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. {6}And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. {7}But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. {8}For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; {9}To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; {10}To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: {11}But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

The five-fold ministry (ascension gifts or offices) is still in operation today

Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; {12}For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: {13}Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Millenial Reign

The blessed return of Jesus

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: {17} Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The millenial reign of Jesus Christ

Revelation 20:6 - Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The final judgment of saints and sinners

Matthew 25:46 - And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

The new heavens and earth

Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. {2}And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. {3}And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. {4}And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
